I don't even know where to BEGIN!

So. Or MacBook died, again. I think it's just that time to save up and get a new computer :/ For now, I bum of our awesome neighbors and use their laptop! I haven't posted in a hot minute. Mainly because of no computer, and because we have been busy! I feel like I have a ton to post on (and I do), but I'm going to break it up in new posts so I don't have one LONG post! First things first. I recently just celebrated my first Mother's Day, and man oh man was it awesome! We celebrated the whole weekend! Friday we went to the NC Zoo. It was Hasting's first time, and he did awesome! We took both the stroller and the mei tai carrier. Hasting mainly stayed in the mei tai, but did ride in the stroller a few times. The stroller was more for help in holding the diaper bag, drinks, and gift shop stuff. I know Hasting won't remember the trip, but it was a really fun experience for Chad and I as parents. We woke up early the next morning...

First time eating from a spoon!

Still posting from my cell phone, & I have a brace on my wrist, so bare with me if you see any typos! Tonight at dinner time I decided to give a spoon a try with Hasting's dinner. I had already given him a bottle, but wanted to see how he would do in his bumbo being spoon fed. Prior to tonight I had been giving Hasting his oatmeal cereal in his bottle. Before you go judging me, I want to remind you that every baby is different. Hasting was ready for cereal, but not ready for a spoon. I bought Y-shaped nipples for his bottles and started him out with 4oz of milk & a formula scoop amount of rice cereal. After about 5 days of being on rice cereal I switched him to oatmeal because of constipation issues. Hasting has drank his oatmeal from a bottle the past 2 weeks & did great with it. He never choked or anything like that when taking it from a bottle. Tonight he ate from a spoon like a champ! It was such a fun experience for the both of us! It's such a bittersweet...

Our First Great Cloth Diaper Change!!

Hasting & I were able to attend our very first Great Cloth Diaper Change today! We had such a great time & Hasting was such a great baby the whole time! For those of you who are clueless as to what this event is: every year people around the world take part in an event to break the previous world record of the most cloth diapers changed at one time! It is such an amazing thing to see the record being broken every year, just to know that many more people have either converted to cloth or chosen to cloth their new babies! Hasting & I had the privilege to take part in breaking a record & being one of the statistics in The Guiness Book of World Records :) We went to All About Baby Boutique in Greensboro, which was where the event was being hosted the closest to us. It was so great to see so many people there, even daddies! Chad wasn't able to come because he had to work, so were hoping next year he has the opportunity. Light refreshments were set up for everyone...

Hastings 4 month Checkup!

Yesterday Hasting went to the doctor for his 4 month checkup!! My word, where has the time gone? I feel like it was just yesterday that we were bringing our baby boy home from the hospital! Hasting isn't quite 4 months old, but he's close enough, so we did everything that was needed to be done! I decided this time to not bring him inside in his carseat, but instead carry him. I usually have someone go with me to help, but no one was able to go this time, and it's a LOT easier on me to just carry Hasting... plus he is a ton more happy because he isn't confined in his seat. He was a tad bit cranky when we got there because it was right in the middle of his nap time. After his weight and measurements were taken he fell asleep in my arms forward facing out!!! Here are the specs of Hastings appointment yesterday: Hasting now weighs 15 pounds & 8 ounces. He is in the 64th percentile for his weight. He is now 26 inches long, & is in the 86th percentile for ...

Hasting's First Easter

I've been wanting to blog for some time now, but last week our computer crashed on us & we haven't had the time nor money to get it fixed! So for now, it's writing new post by way of cell phone! warning: my posts will look different compared to the computer unfortunately :/ Before Easter we went out and got 2 baby chicks.... One for Hasting & one for myself. We didn't have a heating lamp the first night, but we kept them on our back enclosed porch with a towel over them. When I woke the next morning one had already went to be with Jesus, and the other was headed to be with Jesus :/ So, I gathered some small washcloths, threw them in the dryer, got them warm, and then placed them around the baby chick that was struggling. I got him back healthy, and he even ate and drank too! He also played with our pug mojo! It was too cute, it thought mojo was it's mommy! Sadly, although we got somewhat of a heatlamp, nugget passed away overnight :/ I've added a few p...
